BOINC@TOKYO is a distributed computing team that supports scientific research around the world by utilizing the idle processing power of personal computers. By participating in BOINC projects and providing computational resources, our members contribute to the advancement of a wide range of research fields, including:
Medical Research
Climate Change Analysis
Space Exploration
Numerous Other Scientific Projects
Our activities prioritize contributing to research and building a collaborative community. Participants not only earn credits that reflect their contribution to projects but also deepen their knowledge through community interaction and participate in socially meaningful activities.

川口美玲さんへの追悼と、受け継ぐべき願い

2024年に逝去されたALS患者の川口美玲さん。 生前、川口さんは「苦しみを抱えながらも、どう生きる希望を見いだすかを伝えたい」という強い想いを発信し続けてこられました。

BOINC@TOKYOは、チーム美玲の皆さまと連絡を取り合いながらも、直接お会いする機会を得られず、お別れの場にも立ち会うことができませんでした。 心よりご冥福をお祈り申し上げます。

川口さんが伝え続けた現実と希望は、今を生きる私たちが受け継ぎ、語り続けなければならないものです。 そして、いつの日か必ず治療法が見つかることを信じ、歩みを止めずにいくことが、残された私たちの使命でもあります。

川口美玲さんの想いが、これからも多くの人の心に灯り続けますように。

In Memory of Mirei Kawaguchi and the Legacy She Left Behind
Mirei Kawaguchi, an ALS patient, passed away in 2024. During her lifetime, she consistently shared her strong conviction: “I want to convey how to find hope in life even while enduring suffering.”

Although BOINC@TOKYO stayed in touch with the members of Team Mirei, we were unable to meet her in person or attend her funeral. We offer our heartfelt prayers for her eternal rest.

The reality and hope that Ms. Kawaguchi continued to convey are something that we, living in the present, must inherit and continue to share. Furthermore, it is our mission as those left behind to keep moving forward without stopping, believing that a cure will surely be found one day.

May Ms. Mirei Kawaguchi’s spirit continue to shine in the hearts of many people.
